Frequently Asked Questions

What is Self-Care Professional Listening at My Quiet Café? We provide a safe confidential, judgment-free space to share your thoughts, frustrations, challenges, and feelings. An opportunity to be heard without any fear of judgment. We are simply helping you process emotions and to gain clarity by talking things throughout loud.

How is My Quiet Café different from a therapist? A therapist is a licensed mental health professional who provides counseling and support to individuals, couples, and families. Licensed therapists generally address trauma and provide very defined clinical psychological frameworks for guiding you through therapy over an undefined period of time.  We simply give you a one-time safe space to vent, talk, share to help you unload emotionally and personally manage your everyday stress before they accumulate. We don’t issue psychological advice or try to put you on a regimented program.

How is My Quiet Café different from a life coach? Under a monthly or long-term contract, Life Coaches specifically guide you toward new goals and directions. They use their own or borrowed strategies and frameworks and often provide actin plans to help you achieve a certain goal. In contrast, at My Quiet Café we simply provide a space to explore your current thoughts and feelings without unsolicited advice.

 

What's My Quiet Café Privacy Policy? Our Privacy Policy is highlighted within our Terms of Use Contract that can be reviewed at payment time. We guarantee your confidentiality and do not sell your personal information.

What if I need to cancel? Our Terms of Use policy at time of booking clearly communicates the request to cancel appointments at least 24 hours in advance. We understand emergencies occur; if you need to cancel last-minute, email us at info@myquietcafe.com to discuss your situation and we will reschedule accordingly.

How old must I be to use My Quiet Café? As highlighted in our Terms of Use, you must be 18 or older. We recommend if you are under the age of 18 to consider speaking with a school counselor, a trusted adult, or a therapist.

Is there any scheduling flexibility? There may be scheduling flexibility if the available times do not work for you. Please just email info@myquietcafe.com your requested date, time, and local time zone. We'll do our best to accommodate you.

Can I extend my appointment if it turns out not to be enough time? Unfortunately, we are unable to, due to subsequent appointments. Please book another time on-line accordingly.
